We are looking for a Policy Officer with 2–4 years of experience in EU public affairs to help drive the transition toward a more sustainable and circular textile sector. Working across Policy Hub and 2B Policy, you will monitor and shape key EU legislative developments that influence how circularity is implemented in practice.

At the heart of this role is close collaboration with stakeholders across the entire textile value chain, ensuring policy positions reflect real operational challenges and technical realities. Based in Brussels, you will help bridge EU policymaking and on-the-ground expertise, contributing to legislation that is both ambitious and workable.

Key Responsibilities

You will join a small, driven, and ambitious team working closely with businesses, European institutions, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.

Working Group Management & Facilitation

  • Participate in client and member calls & meetings, supporting the team in the facilitation of discussions.
  • Support the organisation and content development of webinars, stakeholder roundtables, and strategic meetings.
  • Liaise with a wide range of industry actors across the global textile value chain to ensure inclusive dialogue and aligned messaging.

Analysis & Client Support

  • Monitor and analyse global legislative and regulatory developments affecting the textile sector (including EU files such as ESPR, WFD, Textiles Labelling, GCD, ECGT, and related frameworks).
  • Draft memos, talking points, and summaries of technical documents and stakeholder discussions.
  • Support the preparation of internal analysis, policy briefings, and strategic positioning across key files.

Stakeholder Engagement &Communication

  • Contribute to engagements with EU institutions, policymakers, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations for internal and external use.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events.
Profile
  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in EU public affairs or policy roles.
    University degree in Law, European Affairs, Political Science, InternationalRelations, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of EU institutions and the EU policymaking process.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and circular economy issues, preferably in the textile and apparel sector.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to synthesise technical content into clear and actionable formats.
  • Strong interpersonal, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluency in English(written and spoken); additional EU languages are an asset.

Policy Officer – Sustainability & Circularity Legislation

Location: Brussels, Belgium

Contract: 1-year full-time(with possibility of extension)

Start date: April 2026

We are looking for a Policy Officer with 2–4 years of experience in EU public affairs to help drive the transition toward a more sustainable and circular textile sector. Working across Policy Hub and 2B Policy, you will monitor and shape key EU legislative developments that influence how circularity is implemented in practice.

At the heart of this role is close collaboration with stakeholders across the entire textile value chain, ensuring policy positions reflect real operational challenges and technical realities. Based in Brussels, you will help bridge EU policymaking and on-the-ground expertise, contributing to legislation that is both ambitious and workable.

Policy Hub – Circularity for Apparel & Footwear brings together the global textile industry to shape EU policies that make circularity work in practice. Working with hundreds of stakeholders across the value chain, Policy Hub helps turn sustainability ambition into implementable solutions. 2B Policy is an Amsterdam-based consultancy supporting companies and sector initiatives in navigating sustainability legislation and translating policy into actionable business guidance.

Together, Policy Hub and 2B Policy work with businesses, European institutions, and multi-stakeholder initiatives to accelerate the transition to a circular textile sector.


Key Responsibilities

You will join a small, driven, and ambitious team working closely with businesses, European institutions, and multi-stakeholder initiatives.

Working Group Management & Facilitation

  • Participate in client and member calls & meetings, supporting the team in the facilitation of discussions.
  • Support the organisation and content development of webinars, stakeholder roundtables, and strategic meetings.
  • Liaise with a wide range of industry actors across the global textile value chain to ensure inclusive dialogue and aligned messaging.

Analysis & Client Support

  • Monitor and analyse global legislative and regulatory developments affecting the textile sector (including EU files such as ESPR, WFD, Textiles Labelling, GCD, ECGT, and related frameworks).
  • Draft memos, talking points, and summaries of technical documents and stakeholder discussions.
  • Support the preparation of internal analysis, policy briefings, and strategic positioning across key files.

Stakeholder Engagement &Communication

  • Contribute to engagements with EU institutions, policymakers, and key stakeholders.
  • Prepare clear and concise presentations for internal and external use.
  • Support the planning and delivery of events.
Profile
  • 2–4 years of relevant professional experience in EU public affairs or policy roles.
    University degree in Law, European Affairs, Political Science, InternationalRelations, or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of EU institutions and the EU policymaking process.
  • Familiarity with sustainability and circular economy issues, preferably in the textile and apparel sector.
  • Excellent analytical and drafting skills, with the ability to synthesise technical content into clear and actionable formats.
  • Strong interpersonal, public speaking, and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Fluency in English(written and spoken); additional EU languages are an asset.
  • AdvancedPowerPoint skills and the ability to develop clear, impactful presentations.
  • Strong motivation and interest in sustainability, policy, and the future of the textile sector.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally.
